VARIANTE MAR DEL PLATA (ATAQUE YUGOSLAVO) EN LA INDIA DE REY: ¿TE ATREVES?


La Variante Mar del Plata en La Defensa India de Rey ha sido y es aún hoy un lugar donde retarse en una apasionante lucha dentro del tablero de ajedrez. Una batalla de flancos, con trincheras bien definidas que muestran todo el espíritu aventurero del ajedrez, a la vez que nos recuerda sus  orígenes como un juego que emula la guerra de ejércitos. Por supuesto, nuestra batalla supera a la realidad ya que podemos reeditarla cada vez que queramos (o en la que se nos presente  ocasión), sin que aparezca una sola víctima mortal. Si acaso aparecerá  la decepción de la derrota frente a la la alegría del vencedor....hasta la próxima oportunidad de retarse en la trinchera del Mar del Plata.

La variante se hace famosa a través del  Gran Maestro Svetozar Gligoric, tras una sonada victoria en el torneo  Mar del Plata (1953) sobre el G.M Miguel Najdorf, si bien ya había sido empleada con anterioridad. Aparece una primera partida en las bases de datos de ajedrez  datada en el año 1926 y ya en el año 1952 la emplea sin éxito el genial David Bronstein. En 1953 unos jovenes llamados Tigran Petrosian y Boris Spassky la utilizan victoriosamente, posteriormente, en la citada ciudad argentina se produce la bella partida del maestro yugoslavo.

Como muchos campos de batalla del ajedrez, ha tenido sus altibajos. Garry Kasparov la resucitó a finales de los años 80, tras unas geniales partidas donde dejaba su especial impronta. Aún hoy persiste su práctica y jugadores de élite como Radjabov y Nakamura  la practican en algunas ocasiones. Su mejor combatiente con blancas quizás haya sido Vladimir Kramnik, quien derrotó en varias ocasiones en la lucha del Mar del Plata al mismísimo Kasparov (y tal vez por eso, entre otras razones,  dejó de practicarla). En Canarias hemos tenido un gran defensor de la variante con las piezas negras, el MI tinerfeño Jorge Cabrera, el cual ha cosechado grandes victorias como podréis observar.

Obsérvese como el G.M Cvitan pudo utilizar en un mismo año dos veces la misma receta de un genial mate....en aquellos tiempos la información no iba aún tan deprisa como ahora.
